Praline Written primarily by Thomas Jefferson, the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4 1776 announcing the independence of the thirteen colonies at war against Great Britain. Now, it is commonly known as Fourth of July where picnics and family reunions, barbecues and hotdogs, fireworks and parades happen. Below is a copy of the Declaration of Independence.
