Make Your Own Havaianas 2011 Event at SM City Cebu

Travel in personalized lifestyle, that’s the popular theme of the Make Your Own Havaianas 2011 (MYOH) which is currently held at the North Wing Atrium. I went to SM City Cebu earlier today and found interesting designs and ideas for our very own Havaianas slippers. Once again we were given a brochure/answer sheet where we could choose from various options until you’re able to come up with the design that suits your style and taste.

Though it may seem ironic that they have to put this up now considering the dreadful weather and turbulent rainstorms we’ve been having in Cebu these past few days.  Nevertheless, I came to observe that plenty of people were obviously fond of personalizing their slippers. I couldn’t help but take some pictures to capture the event and the people who bought their personalized Havaianas. We even took turns and took fun shots of ourselves holding up some of their artistic designs.

Filipinos Feel for Havaianas Crystal Flip-Flops

Havaianas Crystal is one of the most sought-after designs for flip-flops here in the Philippines. Havaianas is not only a top selling brand for open type outdoor footwear here in the country but it’s one of the most popular international brand for flip-flops.

Other popular brands in the Philippines, as well as, other countries include Ipanema, Okabashi, Island slipper, Arugam Bay, and Waves. Amazingly, in Philippine society these branded flip-flops aid in improving an individual’s social status such that whoever wears expensive flip-flops are considered confident, famous (in their group), and cool.

Any Filipino would just love to get their hands on a pair of Havaianas flip-flops. I’m not really sure when this brand became famous here in the Philippines. But its popularity started back in 1998 when Havaianas, a brazilian company who manufactures flip-flops developed sandals for the World Cup showcasing the flag of Brazil on its design. I guess this is where it all started before the rave reached the Philippine shores.
